A luxurious twist on tiramisu, the Terra Massoud recipe layers mascarpone cream and espresso-soaked ladyfingers for a dreamy Italian treat.
Ingredients
Main Ingredients:

8 oz (250 g) fresh mascarpone cheese

3 organic eggs (or plant-based alternative)

½ cup (100 g) superfine sugar

1 cup strong espresso, cooled

2 tbsp amaretto liqueur (optional)

7 oz (200 g) ladyfinger cookies

2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder (for dusting)

1 tsp pure vanilla extract

Pinch of sea salt
Instructions

Brew Coffee: Make espresso, let cool, stir in amaretto if using.

Soak Ladyfingers: Quickly dip ladyfingers in coffee. Do not oversoak.

Make Mascarpone Cream:

Separate eggs. Beat yolks with half the sugar until pale.

Mix in mascarpone and vanilla until smooth.

In another bowl, beat egg whites with salt to stiff peaks, adding remaining sugar gradually.

Fold egg whites into mascarpone cream gently.

Layer Dessert:

In serving dish or glasses, layer soaked ladyfingers, then mascarpone cream.

Repeat layers, ending with cream.

Chill: Cover and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, ideally overnight.

Serve: Dust with cocoa powder just before serving. Optional: garnish with chocolate shavings or espresso beans.
